MissionThe mission of the Harvey Whitney Books Company (HWB) is to advance pharmacotherapy worldwide through the publication of evidence-based journals, books, and continuing education programs on clinical pharmacy practice, research, and education. In order to fulfill its mission, HWB will publish content that is unique, timely, and of high quality; provide service that is personal, professional, and surpasses expectations; create and maintain relationships with skilled, dedicated clinicians, researchers, and educators having collective expertise in all areas of clinical pharmacy; and keep abreast of the latest developments in publishing and information technology. HistoryHWB has been publishing journals and books related to pharmacotherapy for over 25 years. These publications have advanced clinical pharmacy practice, research, and education throughout the world. The primary journal of HWB is The Annals of Pharmacotherapy. The Annals publishes articles that promote the safe, effective, and economical use of medications in patients. Originally conceived as Drug Intelligence in 1967, this journal has changed over the years to mirror the change and growth of clinical pharmacy, becoming Drug Intelligence and Cinical Pharmacy (DICP) in 1969, DICP-The Annals of Pharmacotherapy in 1989, finally evolving into The Annals of Pharmacotherapy in 1992. For a detailed historical account of The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, please see the article written by Donald C McLeod MSPharm FCCP entitled Contribution of The Annals of Pharmacotherapy to the Development of Clinical Pharmacotherapy, which was originally featured in the January, 2006 issue of the journal. Created by HWB to provide valuable information for those interested in the entire body of pharmacy practice, the journal of Pharmacy Technology covers new drugs, products, and equipment; therapeutic trends; organizational, legal, and educational activities; drug distribution and administration; and includes continuing education articles. HWB has also contributed to the development of clinical pharmacotherapy through its books, which include Pharmacoepidemiology, An Introduction; Principles of Pharmacoeconomics; and Therapeutics in the Elderly. In the realm of spiritual hetitleh, HWB has recently published 'Love Walks By Faith - We Gave it All to Jesus'. This compelling book shares the true story of one man who experienced both spiritual and physical healing as he overcame tragedy and learned to love others with God's love. |
